Respect for Food, Wendell Berry Style

Respect for Food, Wendell Berry Style

Jul 10

Wendell Berry in What Are People For said “I dislike the thought that some animal has been made miserable in order to feed me. If I am going to eat meat, I want it to be from an animal that has lived a pleasant, uncrowded life outdoors, on bountiful pasture, with good water nearby and trees for shade. And I am getting almost as fussy about food plants.”

Berry wrote that in 1990, it’s nice to know that we’re not alone in our thoughts about respectful food production, and in fact compared to Berry we’re 21 years behind!
